Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church and Jefferson County Hospice. Mrs. Jones was born Oct. 23, 1902, in Winchester, the daughter of William and Aletha Corr St. Clair. On Dec. 21, 1918, she married Clifford Brown, who died in 1951. She married Ambrose Guy Jones on Jan. 7, 1962. He died July 16, 1962. A resident of the Fairfield community most of her life, she had retired from ownership in food and restaurant business in Fairfield, Keosauqua and Oskaloosa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 39. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy B. Curran of Ottumwa; a son, Donald L. Brown of Muscatine; two stepchildren; Mary Helen Leech of Loveland, Colo., and Jack Jones of Riverside, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Cornell of Anaheim, Calif.; seven sisters, Irene Christy of San Dimas, Calif.; Mary Murray of Ten Mile, Tenn.; Nellie Anderson of Glendale, Calif.; Doris Mealy of Allyn, Wash.; Laura McElroy and Ruth Hall, both of Ottumwa, and Esther Green of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jack; a brother, George Cornell; two sisters, Virgie Ware and Lucille Lyons, and a great-granddaughter.
