ALONZO CHANEY Mrs. Alonzo Chaney died Saturday evening at 4:30 o’clock at her home in Nodaway, her death resulting after an illness of nine days. Gladys Sprague was born in Montgomery County, Iowa, March 9, 1900, and was 27 years old at her death. She was married to Ernest Chaney, who is now deceased, on March 23, 1917 and to this union one son, Lawrence E., noe 8 yers off, was born. On October 7, 1920, Mrs. Chaeny was married to Alonzo Chaney and to this union two children were born. They are Marguerite Emma, 5 years old and Ernest Jr. In addition to her husband and children, Mrs. Chaney leaves her father, Charles Sprague and her stepmother of De Soto, Kansas, two sisters, Belle Kellerton of Fort Lupton, Ohio and Ethel Sprague of Denver and a half sister of Phoebe Sprague of De Soto, Kansas. The body was brought Saturday to J. L. Smith Home in Villisca to await the funeral which was held on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. L. A. Lawton in charge of the services. A marriage license was issued on Wednesday afternoon to Ernest Chaney and Miss Gladys Gail Sprague, both of Villisca, who are stepbrother and stepsister. Miss Sprague is the daughter of Charles Augustus Sprague and Margaret Ann Ellis and Ernest Chaney Jr. is the step-son of Mr. Sprague. An ingenious crank has figured out that since the marriage, Mr. Chaney is husband and stepbrother of his wife, son-in-law of his father and brother-in-law of himself. His wife can also lay claim to a similar distinction of relationship. Mr. Chaney and Miss Sprague were married Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock at the Christian parsonage, Rev. J. A.
