Description	:	CONCORDIA --- Gladys "Nita" Radcliffe, 82, Concordia, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at a Concordia hospital. Mrs. Radcliffe worked for the Western Auto Store in Concordia in the 1970s. She also had worked in a defense plant in California during World War II. She was born April 1, 1920, in Concordia, the daughter of Shirley Amos Walden and Lucy Vignery. She graduated from Concordia High School. She moved back to Concordia from California in 1945. Read More	CONCORDIA --- Gladys "Nita" Radcliffe, 82, Concordia, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at a Concordia hospital. Mrs. Radcliffe worked for the Western Auto Store in Concordia in the 1970s. She also had worked in a defense plant in California during World War II. She was born April 1, 1920, in Concordia, the daughter of Shirley Amos Walden and Lucy Vignery. She graduated from Concordia High School. She moved back to Concordia from California in 1945. Mrs. Radcliffe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in United Methodist Women. She also created the Young at Heart program for the elderly in the church. She was a member of the auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a volunteer for the Cloud County Food Bank. She and her husband were recognized for their volunteer services by former Gov. Mike Hayden, the Cloud County Resource Council, the city of Concordia and the American Association of Retired Persons. She married Clifford J. Radcliffe on Dec. 12, 1943, in Santa Monica, Calif. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, James M. Radcliffe, Runaway Bay, Texas, and Richard R. Radcliffe, Concordia; a daughter, Freda Lou Radcliffe, Concordia; a brother, Shirley "Junior" Walden, Concordia; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. Mrs. Radcliffe was preceded in death by a grandchild. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Mrs. Radcliffe will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cloud County Food Bank or to Trinity United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral chapel. Topeka Capital-Journal, The, May 24, 2002
