Description	:	Gladys May (Wilson) Morehead, one of four children of Joel and Margaret Orinda (Littrell) Wilson, was born on May 10, 1898, in Angus, Nebraska. She died November 27, 1987, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 17 days at the Good Samaritan Center of Nelson, Nebraska. She died November 27, 1987, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 17 days at the Good Samaritan Center of Nelson, Nebraska. On June 17, 1914, she married Ralph Morehead at her parents home in rural Nelson. To this union was born four children: three daughters, Lorene Marie who died in infancy, Mrs. Charles (LaVonne) Larison, Mrs. John (Roberta) Stone, one son, Bill, all of Nelson. She attended country schools in Nuckolls County. She was baptised at an early age in the Blue River at Angus, Nebraska. She joined the Christian Church at Nelson in 1911 and remained a member for 76 years. She was a loving wife and mother. She devoted her life to her family, hard work, and the Lord, Gladys accepted hardship and pain without complaint. After Ralph's death, she made her home with John and Roberta Stone until she entered the nursing home in Nelson in February 1987. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Ralph; one infant daughter; one infant great grandson; two sisters, Myrtle Basey and Nettie Schaffer; and one brother, Frank Wilson. Survivors include her daughters LaVonne and Roberta, and her son Bill, their spouses, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 1, 1987, at 2:00 p.m. from the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson Nebraska, with Rev. Norman F. Brooks officiating. Music was provided by Ilene Nielsen singing "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset" with Myrtle Worley as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Marvin Thurber, Joe Ferebee, Paul Statz, Ted Madson, Elmer Williams and Walster Williams. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, December 3, 1987; pg. 10
