Read More	The funeral for LaVon Larison was Monday at 2:30 p.m., from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. She died Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 19 days. LaVon Ione Morehead Larison, one of four children, was born to Walter Ralph and Gladys May Wilson Morehead on a farm near Nelson Nov. 1, 1926. She attended Nelson Public Schools and was a graduate of Nelson High School with the class of 1944. She had lived her entire life in and around the Nelson community. Nov. 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles Robert Larison in Concordia, Kan. This union was blessed with three children. Mrs. Larison was a 50-year member of the First Christian Church, a member of Ladies' Aid and the VFW Auxiliary. She had been employed as a telephone operator, a nurses' aide at the Good Samaritan Center and a cook at the Nelson schools. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister, Lorine Marie Morehead. Survivors are her husband, Charles (Chuck); four daughters, Mrs. Phil Barto (Maralee) of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Carroll (Coke) Troudt (Cindy) of Lawrence, Mrs. Harold Kramp (Pattie) of Superior and Mrs. Alan Wilton (Melanie) of Nelson; a brother, Bill Morehead, Nelson; a sister, Mrs. John Stone (Roberta), Nelson; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives. The Rev. Norman F. Brooks officiated at the services and burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
