Hasenohr, 76 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, NE. Sunday morning, February 22, 2004. He was born on December 9, 1927 in Beatrice, NE. and lived and farmed northwest of Pickrell, NE. until he moved into Beatrice, NE. in 1983. He was a 1945 graduate of the Beatrice High School in Beatrice, NE. He and Shirley Kracke were married on August 7, 1949 at the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church in Clatonia, NE. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950-1952. He was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church, R. DeWitt, NE. and had served on the church council; was an elder and volunteered for various other jobs at the church. He was a member of the Farm Bureau; Evergreen Home Cemetery Board of Directors; Bitting-Norman Post #27, American Legion in Beatrice, NE.; and was a volunteer member of the Pickrell Fire Department. He was a former member of the Pickrell Elevator board. He enjoyed farming with his son Larry, having coffee with friends, playing cards, and activities with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Shirley; son Larry Hasenohr of Pickrell, NE.; sisters Elaine Focken of Hallam, NE. and Norma Jean Wallman of Lincoln, NE.; brothers in law Lovelle Kracke and his wife Elsie on DeWitt, NE. and James Spilker and his wife Alice of Lincoln; sister in law Gloria Pospisil of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Dora (Boese) Hasenohr; sister in law Marion Spilker; brothers in law Verne Focken and Elvin Pospisil. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church , R. DeWitt, NE. with Reverend Neal Mather officiating. Interment will be held after a lunch at the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00 - 9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the families choice with Oran Obering and Roger Holsing in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected],com. They will be forwarded to the family. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
