"Peg", 87, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the Woodlands Healthcare of Leesville. He was born on February 2, 1926 in Pitkin, to the union of Levy Maricle and Mollie Ray Maricle. He was a lifelong truck driver, dairy owner/operator, retired from Vanply Plywood Company as Wood's Foreman and HDE Hardwood Mill. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish. He was a real gardener and loved his dogs, "Patches and Rags". He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He was a friend to all who knew him and loved people and life, a man of high moral character. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Levy and Mollie Maricle; four brothers,Elvin Maricle ,Waymon Maricle ,Claude Maricle Otha Neal Maricle ,and one granddaughter, Stacey (Maricle) Weldon He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife, Jessie Thompson Maricle of Pitkin; two sons, Ronnie Maricle (Anna) of Pitkin and Nealon Maricle (Peggy) of Glenmora; one daughter, Carolyn Elliott (Charles Evin) of Pitkin; one sister, Odessa Thompson of Pitkin; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Charles Ray Maricle, Robert Maricle, Claude Anthony "Tony" Maricle, Carroll "Pattie" Maricle, Chris Maricle, and Julius Dousay. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Bodie LaValley, Cade Gray, Connor Churchman, Slade Dougharty, Dillon Weldon, and Tyler Weldon. Visitation will begin Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 5 pm until 10 pm then on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 10 am until 10 pm, and on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 8 am until service time in the church. The family would like to send a "Thank You" to all doctors, nurses, and staff in hospitals and nursing facilities, for all of you have done to help our father. A very "Special Thank You" to the Woodlands Health Care Center of Leesville.
