Jessie, 87, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital of Alexandria. She was born November 8, 1931 in Oakdale to the union of Finwick Thompson and Elsie (Doyle) Thompson. Mrs. Jessie “Mae” lived a simple and productive life. She was always working, giving, and sharing. Her simple smile would warm your day. She was noted as always saying “The Lord is Still Blessing!” Mrs. Maricle was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She worked side by side with her husband in the dairy production business and was a retired Cafeteria employee at Pitkin High School. Jessie enjoyed listening to gospel music, working Word Search, working in her flower bed, and making her sweet potato pies. She leaves behind the memories of the true value of love and devotion to family and friends alike. A Godly woman that always gave advice of the right and true way to solve life’s problems. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. She is preceded in death by her parents, Finwick and Elsie Thompson; her loving husband of 64 years, Glen (Peg) Maricle; one son, Nealon Maricle; one granddaughter, Stacey Maricle Weldon; four brothers, Herman Thompson, Sherman Thompson, Derwood Thompson, and Sherwood Thompson; and one sister, Ethel Lee Maricle. Those left behind to cherish her memory are: one son, Ronnie (Anna) Maricle of Pitkin; one daughter, Carolyn (Charles) Elliott of Pitkin; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Cade Gray, Connor Churchman, Josh Dougharty, Dwight Rodriguez, Lewis Maricle, and Marlin Odom. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 and on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the Freedom Baptist Church. A special thanks to the doctors and staff of Christus Cabrini for the care of our loved one.
