She was born Feb. 15, 1917, on a farm near Burchard, the daughter of Albin and Anna (Hauner) Kalin. She graduated from high school at Lewiston Consolidated Schools in 1935 and continued her education at Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She was born Feb. 15, 1917, on a farm near Burchard, the daughter of Albin and Anna (Hauner) Kalin. She graduated from high school at Lewiston Consolidated Schools in 1935 and continued her education at Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She practiced her profession at various locations. She was also a farm wife and homemaker. On June 9, 1942, she married Marvin W. Borcher at St. Anthony's Church in Steinauer. They lived on a farm west of Steinauer for many years and raised their family of nine children. They later moved into Steinauer. Her husband died in 1979. On Jan. 30, 1992, she was married to Ralph H. Edwards at St. Anthony's Church in Steinauer. They lived in Steinauer for several years. He died in 1999. She then moved to Lincoln in 2000. She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society at Steinauer and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing Alumni.
