Description	:	Glenn Garet Oltmans, son of R.G. Oltmans and Emma (Frey) Oltmans, was born on a farm northwest of Nelson, Nebraska, October 31, 1914. He passed away January 31, 1993, while a patient at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years and three months. He was raised on the family farm and attended Nelson schools, graduating from Nelson High School in 1934. On March 17, 1941, he was married to Della Bargen in Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children. Glenn served on the Nelson Public School Board, Farmers Co-op Oil Company and was a past Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. At the time of his death, Glenn was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Della; two sons, Steven and his wife, Barbara, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Dudley of North Platte, Nebraska; one brother, Marvin and his wife, Elaine, of Nelson, Nebraska; four sisters, Corrinne Good and her husband, Howard of Nelson, Nebraska, Esther Komp and her husband, Paul, of Joliet, Illinois, Doris Andersen and her husband, Henry, of Wallace, Nebraska, and Lila Oltmans of North Platte, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Curtis and his wife, Lisa, Brad and his wife, Dagney, Todd, Chris, Stacy, Molly, Ellie and Andy; one great grandson, Connor; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 3, 1993, at 2 p.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ with the Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Ruth Watts, singing "How Great Thou Art: and "Footprints In The Sand" with Dot Ferebee as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were: Curtis Oltmans, Todd Oltmans, Andy Oltmans, Brad Oltmans, Chris Oltmans and Jim Oltmans. Ushers were Kenneth Hamel, Darrell Harrington, Randy Koehler and John Schutte. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, February 4, 1993; pg. 8 Friday he had delivered license plates to a rural friend whose leg had been amputated and mail to windows in Nelson. Returning home he fell on the ice and struck his head. When his son, Dudley, stopped to say hello while enroute home from Lincoln, he found his father attempting to get up.
