Buter, 21, aviation MM2-c, was killed Monday (December 29, 1947) when a naval helicopter crashed at Naples, Italy according to word received here by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buter. Three men died as a result of the crash, two instantly and the other later in the hospital. Details of the accident nor the time of Glenn's death were not included in the report. The helicopter was from the American Carrier Midway, and the loss of a rotor blade caused the crash. Besides his parents, Glenn is survived by his wife Helen and son Dennis, of Cassville, N. J.; a brother Leonard of Dunlap, and a sister Mrs. Byron Chambers of Dow City. No details were available as to when or if the body would be returned to the states for burial. ------------------------------------- Latest reports received here by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buter are that their son's body will arrive in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sunday, Jan. 18. Mr. and Mrs. Buter are the parents of Glenn P. Buter, Aviation MM 2-c, killed in a naval air crash near Naples Italy, Monday, Dec. 19. No further details concerning their son's accident or death, other than those released to news agencies have been learned by the Buters. Three men met death when a helicopter stationed on the U. S. Carrier Midway, lost a rotor blade and crashed. The body will be brought to Dunlap for final rites and burial after it reaches Brooklyn. Mrs. Glenn Buter and son Dennis arrived here Sunday and are staying at the Henry Buter home. They came by plane to Omaha where they were met Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Buter and family.
