Mr. Rainey was born in Winslow, July 4, 1892, the son of John J and Clara J (Ray) Rainey. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary A. Mr. Rainey was born in Winslow, July 4, 1892, the son of John J and Clara J (Ray) Rainey. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary A. Rainey, and by five children, Miss Bernice [Glenys] Rainey of Randolph, Howard C Rainey of Gardiner, Mrs Ethel [Mythel] E Brann of Farmingdale, Mrs Faith A Landry of Newport NH and Pvt Robert A Rainey USA of Fort Knox KY: also one brother Howard Rainey of Waterville; one sister, Mrs. Doris Higgins of Waterville; and seven grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Chapter of Waterville. For 22 years Mr. Rainey was the agent for the Atlantic Motor Express in Gardiner and for the past year he had been employed in the production office of the Bath Iron Works. He was a director of the Randolph Athletic Association and was president of that organization last year. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Amesbury-White funeral home on Washington Avenue. FUNERAL NOTICE GARDINER – Funeral services for Glenwood Arthur Rainey were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Amesbury-White Funeral Home on Washington Ave with the Rev Charles H McElhinney pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. The officers of Waterville Lodge No 33 AF and AM of which Mr. Rainey was a member, conducted the ritualistic service of the lodge. Bearers were Earl Gallagher and Earl D Fossett, Jr of Randolph, A and A and Lawrence Barton and Edward Lodge of Waterville Masonic Lodge. The body was placed in the private vaults at the funeral home and burial will be later in the family lot in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterville.
