Gloria Jean Mack - Johannaber was born on February 6, 1934, to Robert and Minnie Coen. She attended rural schools in the Fredericksburg, Nashua, Ionia and Basset areas. Read More	Gloria Jean Mack -Johannaber, age 79, of Fredericksburg, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton, Iowa. Gloria Jean Mack - Johannaber was born on February 6, 1934, to Robert and Minnie Coen. She attended rural schools in the Fredericksburg, Nashua, Ionia and Basset areas. Gloria was a 1952 graduate of Colwell High School. On October 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lorris Mack. To this union three children were born, Deborah, Douglas and Donna. Gloria worked in various jobs, though mainly at Ott and Foresman Produce in Fredericksburg. She retired to raise her family and help her husband farm until Lorris passed away in 1985. In 1988, Gloria was united in marriage to Ivan Johannaber at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, Iowa. The couple lived in Missouri until Ivan's retirement in 1996. They then wintered in Texas and spent their summers in Fredericksburg, Iowa. Gloria loved birds, flowers and animals. One friend stated that they wanted to come back as an animal and be cared for by Gloria. Music was a passion and one of her greatest joys was meeting Ernest Tubb who had kissed her hand. Gloria and Lorris travelled to several county fairs so that she could listen to him. She was planning on "waltzing across Texas" one day. Gloria is survived by her husband, Ivan Johannaber of Fredericksburg, Iowa; Her daughters, Deborah (Danny) Weiss Mallon of Denver, Colorado and Donna (Joe) Salazar of Harlington, Texas; her son, Douglas (Stacey) Mack of Charles City, Iowa; her step-sons, David Johannaber of Huntsville, Missouri, Douglas (Wilma) Johannaber of Cairo, Missouri and Dennis (Becky) Johannaber of Huntsville, Missouri; her adopted son and favorite policeman, Tony (Vicky) Sanchez; her sisters, Lulu Buls of Fredericksburg and Janice (Bud) Theilen of Nashua, Iowa; her brother, Galen "Max" Coen of Fredericksburg, Iowa; her grandchildren, Amanda Badger, Andrew Weiss, Andrea Mack, Sasha Salazar, Jennifer Nothweher, Paul Johannaber, Sara Jackson, Kristy Smith, Greg Johannaber and Kevin Johannaber; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Virgil (Leola) Hartman of Waverly, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lorris Mack; her granddaughter, Amelia Mack; her sisters, Vivian and Esther and her brothers, Clyde, Paul and Robert Dean. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, Iowa. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Funeral Services for Gloria will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
