Description	:	WILLISTON, N.D. - Gloria Pierce, 63, of Williston, passed away early Friday morning, June 11, 2004, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison at a later date. Gloria Jean Edgar was born in Fredericksburg, Iowa, on July 1, 1940, to Paul and Beth (Schoonover) Edgar. She was raised and educated in New Hampton, Iowa, graduating from New Hampton High School. Gloria Jean Edgar was born in Fredericksburg, Iowa, on July 1, 1940, to Paul and Beth (Schoonover) Edgar. She was raised and educated in New Hampton, Iowa, graduating from New Hampton High School. On Aug. 22, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa, Gloria was united in marriage to John (Jack) Pierce, to this union three children were born, Jacquie, Patti and Ted. They established their home and raised their family in Great Falls, Mont. After Jack's death in 1994, Gloria moved to the Washington, D.C., area to be closer to her daughter. While there she spent seven years working as a contractor with the Federal Communication Commission. She retired at age 62 and returned to her home in Williston. Her grandsons were the center of her will for life, she attended each of their births, Ryan James, 1986; Andrew Jon, 1991; Hunter Jay, 1993; and Logan Scott, 1998. One of Gloria's last prayers was to be in attendance at the 2004 high school graduation of Ryan, and Andrew's sixth-grade recognition. Her prayer was answered. Gloria is survived by her three children, Jacquie Smith and her husband, Scott, and their son, Logan, of Lakeville, Minn., Patti Lynch and her husband, Terry, and their three children, Ryan, Andrew and Hunter, all of Williston, and Ted Pierce also of Williston; her mother, Beth Edgar of New Hampton; three brothers, Jim (Monica) Edgar of Waterloo, Iowa, Bob (Nancy) Edgar of Houston, Texas, and Bill (Nancy) Edgar of New Hampton; two sisters, Bonnie (Lowell) Granneman of Waverly, Iowa, and Pat (Dale) Cutsforth of Bella Vista, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and her father, Paul. Published Williston Daily Herald Jun/16/2004
