Description	:	Gloria Mae Donnelly, 88, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away on September 1, 2014, at the Prairie Estates Care Center of Elk Point. Gloria was born on November 28, 1925, in Elk Point to Oris and Lucille (Montagne) Bernard. She attended country schools and graduated from Elk Point High School in 1943. Read More	Gloria Mae Donnelly, 88, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away on September 1, 2014, at the Prairie Estates Care Center of Elk Point. Gloria was born on November 28, 1925, in Elk Point to Oris and Lucille (Montagne) Bernard. She attended country schools and graduated from Elk Point High School in 1943. She attended the University of South Dakota prior to working in Kansas City, Missouri. Gloria married Robert “Bud” Donnelly on Feb 26, 1949. They made their home on a farm west of Elk Point until they moved into Elk Point in 1979, where they remained until Bud’s death in 2004. She enjoyed gardening, especially roses, playing cards and many sports. Golfing, fishing and snowmobiling filled her days. She held the women’s course record at the Elk Point Country Club for many years. She loved to travel with family and friends and spend winters at their winter home in McAllen, Texas. Her love for life and her fighting spirit were present through her final days. Gloria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elk Point, St. Joseph’s Altar Society, the American Legion Auxiliary Club and various card clubs. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Mary (Rex) Christensen of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Dawn (Gary) Glover of Burbank, South Dakota; her grandchildren, Andy (Shannon) Glover, Adam (Becky) Glover, Rachel Christensen, Brittany (Ryan) Anderson, and Alex Christensen; five great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Sandra Bernard, Norma Davis, Margaret Peterson, and Lynne Donnelly; and her brother-in-law, James Donnelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Donnelly; her parents, Oris and Lucille Bernard; and her brothers, Ralph Bernard and Ronald Bernard. [Courtesy: Kober Funeral Home]
