Goodrich, 77, R 1 Kimmell, the widow of Donald C. Goodrich, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at the National Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for the last five years and for the past three months her condition had remained critical. She was a native of Noble township, Noble county, and was born on December 17, 1893, a daughter of William C. and Margaret Ellen Sterling Adair. Her formative years were spent in the Ormas community where she was educated in the Stults school. On November 25, 1911, she was united in marriage to Donald C. Goodrich. They started housekeeping on a farm immediately south of Loon Lake in Thorncreek township. In 1916, they purchased the Ormas General Store which they managed for two years. They then returned to Thorncreek township where they made their home until 1938 when they purchased their present farm two and one-half miles north of Ormas in Washington township, Noble county. Mr. Goodrich preceded her in death on October 7, 1969. Mrs. Goodrich was a member of the Washington Township Home Demonstration Club and the Mission Circle of the Ormas Baptist Church. The surviving relatives include two sons, Phillip D. Goodrich, Wolf Lake and Lynn D. Goodrich, R 1 Kimmell; four daughters, Mrs. Aileen Hill, City; Mrs. Phil (Ellen) Metzger, City; Mrs. Errol (Billie) Schuman, R 1, Pierceton; Mrs. Waldo (Shirley) Miller, R 2 Ligonier; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Beers, Cromwell and Mrs. Grace Judd, City. One son, Hale, four brothers, Arthur, Walter, William, and Forrest, and two sisters, Hazel and Jessie, preceded her in death. The body is at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. William Utley, pastor of the Ormas Baptist Church, will officiate at the funeral service to be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal services and burial will follow the funeral home rites in the Ormas Baptist Church north of Ormas.
