Description	:	Goldie Eleanor Jacoby was born on a farm near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, on June 8, 1906, the daughter of Fay Elmer Wattles and Phebe Maye (Stanley) Wattles. She was one of three children. She was educated at Beaver Crossing, graduating from high school there. She had lived in Friend, Wymore and Nelson. Read More	Goldie Eleanor Jacoby was born on a farm near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, on June 8, 1906, the daughter of Fay Elmer Wattles and Phebe Maye (Stanley) Wattles. She was one of three children. She was educated at Beaver Crossing, graduating from high school there. She had lived in Friend, Wymore and Nelson. She was married April 12, 1924, to Edward Adam Jacoby at Concordia, Kansas. They moved to Superior in 1935 where they bought the Jacoby Luncheonette, which they operated for 15 years. She was a member of the Superior United Methodist Church, the Business Professional Woman's Association. She was a lover of people, had many friends, was a kind, gentle person and always had a sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward, who died on October 25, 1981; two brothers, Merton Roy Wattles and Melvin Allen Wattles. She is survived by her son Don Jacoby and his wife, June, of Salida, Colorado; three granddaughters, Nancy Jacoby, Cheryl Jackson and Karen Cowan, all of Salida; a sister-in-law, Emma Jacoby; nephews, Gordon, Dick and George Wattles, Orvvile Jacoby; and a niece, Susie (Wattles) Laughlin. Goldie passed away at her apartment in Superior, Nebraska, on October 11, 1990, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 16, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior with Rev. Jerry Heydenberk officiating. Music was provided by Pastor Ken Fairbrother singing "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset" with Glenda Thayer as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Bob Noren, Keith Eickmann, Al Jorgensen, LaMar Diehl, Doyle Mellott and Melvin Diehl. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery near Superior. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 18, 1990; pg. 4
