Description	:	Edward Adam Jacoby, one of five children of George and Alice (Troudt) Jensby, was born at Nelson, Nebraska, August 21, 1900. He died October 25, 1981, on the banks of the Republican River, while fishing, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 4 days. Ed grew up and was educated at Nelson. Read More	Edward Adam Jacoby, one of five children of George and Alice (Troudt) Jensby, was born at Nelson, Nebraska, August 21, 1900. He died October 25, 1981, on the banks of the Republican River, while fishing, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 4 days. Ed grew up and was educated at Nelson. April 12, 1924, he was united in marriage to Goldie Eleanor Wattles at Concordia, Kansas. To this union one son, Donald, was born. Ed and Goldie have made their home in Superior for the last 46 years. They operated the Jacoby Luncheonette Cafe. Ed had also worked for the Superior Country Club and for 17 years he worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads. Ed's past time was spent fishing, hunting and trapping. He enjoyed the out of doors and the beauty of nature and wildlife. He enjoyed the fellowship of all his hunting and fishing buddies and the many stories about the one that got away. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, John, and one sister, Ann Sawdey. Survivors include his wife, Goldie of Superior; his son, Donald Gale of Salida, Colorado; his twin sister, Edna Newell of Hastings; his sister, Emma Jacoby of Clyde, Kansas; three granddaughters; and one nephew, Orville Jacoby of Topeka, Kansas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion Knoell officiating. Pallbearers were Ed Groves, Kenneth Andersen, Dale Young, Willard Springer, Barney Crook and Darrell Thayer. Honorary pallbearers were Kirmet Irvin, Don Grabast, Bill Konzack, Clay Langer, Ed Hudson, Bob Hudson and Bert Ackley. "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art" was sung by soloist, Gene Bruening, with Glenda Thayer as organist. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
