Don Kinnersley officiating. At the organ was Mrs. Mary Else who accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Neal Alexander in the following vocal selections, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Safe In The Arms Of Jesus.” Flower bearers were Mrs. Eula Taylor and Mrs. Darlene Hayes. Goldie Marie Arnott Nix was born August 25, 1894, the only child of Steve and Eliza Arnott. At the time of her birth the family resided in Hiland County, Ohio, later they moved to near Nodaway, Iowa, where Goldie lived the larger part of her life. Both her mother and father preceded her in death. On January 27, 1916, she was united in marriage to Henry B. Hedstrom. Mr. Hedstrom passed away December 8, 1939. On October 6, 1944 she was married to James W. Nix of Glenwood, Iowa. Later moving to a farm near Nodaway, Iowa, where her husband, James Nix passed away, January 13, 1961. Goldie then moved to Villisca to be near her friends and relatives. Although she has had a few days the last four years in which she did not feel too well, she seemed to enjoy life, until her maker called her. After suffering a heart attack at home, she was taken to the Rosary Hospital where she departed this life on November 8, 1965 at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 14 days. She leaves to mourn her passing sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and one aunt Mrs. Grace Arnott of Nodaway and a host of friends.
