Mar 15, 1917 - page 1 Gottfred Einspahr Funeral services for the late Gottfred Einspahr, who died at his home in this city on Thursday afternoon of last week, were held from the home in this city and from the Evangelical Lutheran church (sic) in Wanda township (sic), on Monday of this week and interment was in the Wanda cemetery (sic). Rev. H. F. Ramelow of this city and Rev. A. Wilk of the Wanda church (sic) conducted the services. Gottfred Einspahr was born in Germany, August 13, 1843, and died at his home in Kenesaw, March 8, 1917, aged seventy-three years, six months and twenty-five days. Mr Einspahr came with his parents to the United States in the early days settling at Blue Island, Illinois. Later he came to Nebraska and established himself on a farm in Wanda township (sic) where he lived until a few years since and where he reared a family of eight children. Some years since he retired from the farm, turning it over to his sons, and moved to Kenesaw where his declining years were spent. Early last fall Mr Einspahr was taken down with dropsy and from that time until his death was confined to his home. During the years spent in Adams county Mr Einspahr made many friends, who will join with the bereaved family in mourning his death. He was a good citizen, a kind father and a splendid neighbor, honest and upright in his dealings with men and living with due respect for his maker.
