Description	:	From Gotthold Sailer's Memorial: Gotthold was born August 22, 1908, to George and Regina (Dewald) Sailer, in Crimea, Russia. The family immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada, in September 1911, aboard the "F. Missler Bremen." They moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, around 1916. Later, the family moved to Mannhaven, Mercer County and then south of the Red Butte School, in Oliver County, North Dakota. Read More	From Gotthold Sailer's Memorial: Gotthold was born August 22, 1908, to George and Regina (Dewald) Sailer, in Crimea, Russia. The family immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada, in September 1911, aboard the "F. Missler Bremen." They moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, around 1916. Later, the family moved to Mannhaven, Mercer County and then south of the Red Butte School, in Oliver County, North Dakota. In 1929, Gotthold moved to Beulah and was employed by Knife River Coal Company. On July 17, 1932, he married Alvina Sailer at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. They owned and operated Sailer's Red Owl and Sailer's Clothing Store in Beulah. Later they owned and operated Sailer's Implement and the Beulah Laundromat. Gotthold did custom combining for many years, which he loved to do! Gotthold also worked for Jim's Fairway grocery store in Hazen as a meat cutter before his retirement. After retirement, Gotthold and Alvina moved to Golden Valley, North Dakota, where they spent several years refurbishing the Erdman home. It became a show place in the community. He enjoyed gardening and playing with this many grandchildren. Gotthold is survived by his five children, Donald Sailer (and his wife Darlene) of Vancouver, WA; Donna Hartwig of Clear Lake, Minnesota; Rosalie Unruh (and her husband Milton) of Palm Desert, California; Jeanette Bentley (and her husband James) of Escondido, California; and William Sailer (and his wife Deniece) of Cando, North Dakota; 21 grandchildren (including two sets of twins); 35 great-grandchildren (including twins and triplets); three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters (Gertrude Younker, Bismark and Frieda Heihn, Mandan). Gotthold was preceded in death by his wife Alvina; one infant son, Allen; one son-in-law, Bob Hartwig; his parents; three brothers (Hugo, Hildebert, and Andrew) and three sisters (Lillian Elhardt, Emma Sasse, and Bertha Bhruszch).
