Description	:	Grace Alberta Van Patten, daughter of William and Carolina Van Patten, was born in Grafton, Neb., October 20, 1894. She passed away on December 9, 1975, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 81 years, one month and 19 days after a lingering illness. On March 20, 1912, she was united in marriage to Ernest Frederick Laschanzky of Fairmont. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. Read More	Grace Alberta Van Patten, daughter of William and Carolina Van Patten, was born in Grafton, Neb., October 20, 1894. She passed away on December 9, 1975, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 81 years, one month and 19 days after a lingering illness. On March 20, 1912, she was united in marriage to Ernest Frederick Laschanzky of Fairmont. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always willing to lend a hand when it was needed. She was baptized August 9, 1964, and faithfully attended the Church of Christ until her health no longer permitted. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Carl of Wichita, Kas., Glen, of Sutton, one daughter, Mrs. Fritz (Pauline) Kelch of Fairmont; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Tina Bensen, Helmet, Cal., Mrs. Francis Langren of Alliance, Neb., and Mrs. Keitha Snider of Lushton; nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceding her in death were her husband who passed away on February 12, 1951, her father, mother, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p.m., Friday, December 12, 1975, with Rev. Clarence Mersch officiating. Robert Lawrence was the vocalist and sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Trust and Obey." Pallbearers were Paul Caton, Robert Laschanzky, Dale Oates, Earl Snider, Bill Laschanzky and Tom Snider.
