She spent a lot of time helping Evelyn's husband Hank to care for her sister at home. She was living in El Cerito, CA, by 1956. She returned to South Dakota and married Roy Winget and lived in a senior citizen apartment building in Madison. Grace was interested in craft work and did embroidery, crocheting, fabric painting and other handiwork. She loved to travel and kept up a large correspondence with many friends and distant family members. Grace was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Services were held at the Hallenbeck Funeral Home in Madison, and burial was in the Hetland Cemetery.
