Description	:	Grace Edna [Ashley-] Homan of Grand Junction died Tuesday, Dec 6, 1983, at Bethesda Care Center after a short illness. She was 94. Mrs. Homan had been a resident of Grand Junction for 87 years. She was born Grace Edna Leonard Aug. 2, 1889, at Pratt, Kansas and spent her childhood and attended schools in Pratt and the Kannah Creek area. She moved to the Grand Junction area with her parents in a covered wagon when she was seven. She married Henry Homan in New Mexico in 1948. He died in 1953. She was previously married to... Read More	Grace Edna [Ashley-] Homan of Grand Junction died Tuesday, Dec 6, 1983, at Bethesda Care Center after a short illness. She was 94. Mrs. Homan had been a resident of Grand Junction for 87 years. She was born Grace Edna Leonard Aug. 2, 1889, at Pratt, Kansas and spent her childhood and attended schools in Pratt and the Kannah Creek area. She moved to the Grand Junction area with her parents in a covered wagon when she was seven. She married Henry Homan in New Mexico in 1948. He died in 1953. She was previously married to Charles Ashley, a Kannah Creek rancher who died in 1945. They were married in 1909. Mrs. Homan's interest included poetry, needlework and gardening. She was a longtime member of the Grand Junction Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mamie, who died in 1921. Two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Vera Gonzales of Palisade, and Lois Bauermeister of Paducah, KY; two sons, Wesley Leonard Ashley of Ridgway and Charles R. Ashley of Spokane, WA., two brothers, Russel Leonard of Orland, Calif., and John Leonard of Antacortes, Wash.; one sister, Wilma Benear of Santa Clara, Calif., 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and four great-great children.
