Description	:	Grace I. Countryman, 89, of Tipton, died peacefully Monday, August 27, 2018, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A memorial has been establish for Camp Courageous in her memory. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. Grace Irene Seys was born September 10, 1928, in Scott County, the daughter of Camille and Marie (Petersen) Seys. She married Robert Lee Countryman on June 1, 1947, at Lutheran Church in Tipton. Robert preceded her in death on May 11, 1999. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She worked at Bud’s Super Valu, Schultz Brothers, Al’s Meet-n-Eat and Frank Magid. At the of age 75, she along with Gerry Schilling, became an EMT-A and volunteered on the Tipton Ambulance for several years. She also served as President of A.R.C. When her health began to declined, she moved to the Leland R. Smith Assisted Living in Wilton and later moved to the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Surviving are two daughters, Carol (David) Bradley of West Liberty, and Nancy (Daniel) Pruess of Marshalltown; one son, David Countryman of Tipton; six grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; one son-in-law, James Trcka of Tipton; and one sister, Madeline Andress of Silvis, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Camellia Trcka, one grandson, John Turner, and four sisters, Christine Eserhaut, Caroline Hendricks, Margaret Seys and Florence Kress.
