She was born Nov. 27, 1892, the daughter of Thomas Clayton and Carrie Viola Cree of Bloomfield, Ia. She was married in Ottumwa, Sept. 1, 1909 to Harry S. Morrison of Douds, who survives. They have made their home in Douds the past forty years. Morrison, 65, of Douds, Ia., passed away at 11 a.m., at the Ottumwa hospital, Monday, Sept. 1, 1958. She was born Nov. 27, 1892, the daughter of Thomas Clayton and Carrie Viola Cree of Bloomfield, Ia. She was married in Ottumwa, Sept. 1, 1909 to Harry S. Morrison of Douds, who survives. They have made their home in Douds the past forty years. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive, Mrs. Clair Horn of St. Louis; James C. of Cleveland; William C. of Rock Island; Rod of Des Moines; and Harry S. jr., of Iowa City. She leaves twelve grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She also leaves one brother, William Cree, of Bloomfield; and four sisters, Mrs. Cal Vorhis of Bloomfield; Mrs. Winnie Ingersoll of Ottumwa; Mrs. Belle Burns and Mrs. Louella Wall of Los Angeles; aso(also) many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Guile of Trenton, Mo., and Mrs. Ruth Hall of Batavia, Ia., and two infant grandsons, William Cree and William Stanley Morrison. Mrs. Morrison had been a most active member of the Order of the Eastern Star for nearly forty years. She will be greatly missed by her immediate family and by her many friends and neighbors in this community to whom she was ever ready to offer a helping hand. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1958 at the Pedrick Funeral home in Douds. The Rev. Harold Harryman was assisted by the Rev. David Pease. Graveside services were conducted by Twin City Chapter No. 258, O.E.S. Interment was in Zion Lutheran cemetery. Source: Van Buren Co.
