Description	:	William Cree Morrison, 77, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus in Moline. He was born July 26, 1919 to *Harry Streator and Grace Cree* Morrison**. He married Anna Margaret Barker on July 13, 1940 in Missouri. He graduated in 1942 from the University of Iowa College of Engineering with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. He had been employed at the former Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Co in Davenport, working as an engineer in the gas department for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was born July 26, 1919 to *Harry Streator and Grace Cree* Morrison**. He married Anna Margaret Barker on July 13, 1940 in Missouri. He graduated in 1942 from the University of Iowa College of Engineering with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. He had been employed at the former Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Co in Davenport, working as an engineer in the gas department for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He served his country in Oak Ridge, TN during World War II. He was a member of Moline Kiwanis, where he was past president, past lieutenant governor of the I-I District of Kiwanis and most recently received the Outstanding Kiwanian Award. He was a member of Rock Island Housing Authority, University of Iowa Alumni Association, and former member of Short Hills Country Club, East Moline. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, building models and meeting with his morning coffee group. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Dottie and Jim Mowen, Moline, WI and Chris and Jerry Beerends, West Bend, WI; grandchildren, Dorrie Mowen Murphy, and her husband Derek, Jim, Carrie and Jennifer Mowen, Jerry Beerends and Theresa Butler, and Jason, Catherine and Michael Beerends; and a brother, Harry Morrison, Columbia, MO. Two sons preceded him in death. Services are 10am on Thursday at 1st Congregational Church, Moline, where he was a member. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds, Iowa. Visitation is 3:30pm-7:30pm on Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home in Moline. Memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Foundation.
