Her early life was spent at Ashton, Iowa. On December 17, 1899 she was united in marriage to Ludwig Gerhard Remmers. Esther Machamer, Whittier, Calif; Evelyn Parsk, Los Angeles, Calif; Arlouine Betts, Sioux Falls, S.Dak.; Wilbur Remmers, Harris, Ia.; Rene,Floyd, Emery and Victor of Melvin. A granddaughter, Lorraine Fae Nuss, of Sanborn, had made her home with her since infancy. She is survived by twenty grandchildren, by no sisters or brothers. She was a member of the Methodist church and baptized in this faith. She was active in church organizations until her health no longer permitted, even then she was interested and a cheerful giver. She has been a member at the Royal Neighbors for many years. Her home was always for her friends and neighbors who will always remember her happy a is position. Her eleven children all living and having homes of their own has been a wish of her fulfilled. Her memory will live long in the lives of those near and dear to her. She served, and served well. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon in the Methodist church at Melvin by the pastor, Rev. Belden Weikel. Sibley Gazette - Tribune 10 October 1946
