Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Grace Phillips Vinesett and the son of the late B. B. Vinesett and Ollie McCraw Vinesett. Mr Vinesett was formerly employed with the Shuford Hatcher Funeral Home for 35 years and served as Cherokee County Coroner for 22 years and was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mike Vinesett and wife, Kay of Gaffney; a daughter, Rita Scalf and husband, Jerry of Gaffney; a brother Travis Vinesett and wife Barbara of Spartanburg; three sisters, Rue Mayfield and husband, Don of Gaffney; Juanita Shaw and husband, Bill of Bayonett Point, FL. and Lena Martin and husband Andrew of Evans, GA; five grandchildren, Natalie Porter, Clay Vinesett, Heather Vinesett, Harley Schalf and Lee Scalf; five great-grandchildren; and four step-greatchildren. Mr Vinesett was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Turner. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Cherokee Ave Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Thomas and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
