Description	:	Lt. Grady Bryson Owen, 55, of Golden Lane, Lexington, of the S. C. Highway Patrol, died Monday at Lexington County Hospital after a short illness. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of Mrs. Lela Mae Black Owen and the late Edward Grady Owen. Lt. Owen had served with the S. C. Highway Patrol for 32 years and was honored by the Columbia Exchange Club as Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year 1968. Grady Bryson Owen, 55, of Golden Lane, Lexington, of the S. C. Highway Patrol, died Monday at Lexington County Hospital after a short illness. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of Mrs. Lela Mae Black Owen and the late Edward Grady Owen. Lt. Owen had served with the S. C. Highway Patrol for 32 years and was honored by the Columbia Exchange Club as Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year 1968. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was very active in community programs and youth activities. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Merck Owen; a son, Richard Bryson Owen of Lexington; four daughters, Misses Margaret Elizabeth and Jennifer Carol of Lexington, Mrs. Judy Williams of Gilbert and Mrs. Dianne Meetze of Lexington; his mother of Liberty; two sisters, Mrs. Chrysteen Whitlock of Central and Mrs. Adymae Robinson of Liberty; and three grandchildren. Services will be held 11 a. m. today at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Thomas W. Corbell. Burial will be at 4:30 p. m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park at Easley, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Moon. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gable, Oscar Derrick, John Valdairo, Charles Elliott, Buddy Sullivan and Lemar Cockrell. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Youth Ministry. Thompson Funeral Home, of West Columbia is in charge.
