Pallbearers were Leon Clark, James Clark, Wayne Clark, Delbert Clark, Wendal Clark and Larry Clark. Grant Clark was born to Albert and Barbara Renftle Clark on August 1, 1903 at Manning [Iowa]. While he was three years old the family moved to Dickinson County where he attended rural schools. On March 5, 1924 he was united in marriage to Lydia Keller at Jackson, Minn., and to this marriage were born five sons and twin daughters. They lived in Glenwood Springs, Colo. for a time, then moved back to Newell. They bought a pool hall in Estherville [Iowa] which they operated until 1935, when at the death of his father they returned to Dickinson County to farm. In 1955 they purchased a farm west of Lakefield and farmed there until purchasing a home in Spirit Lake in 1964. Grant and Lydia spent winters in Florida until Lydia's death in 1969. In 1971 he married Emma Francis at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. He and Emma continued to spend winters in Florida until Emma passed away in 1986. Grant enjoyed farming, traveling, and the 32 winters he spent in Florida. He passed away on May 21, 1996 at Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake. Surviving are his five sons and their wives, Leon and Delores of Spirit Lake, Wayne and Norma of Lakefield, Minn., Wendal and Mary of Escondido, Calif., James and Marlys of Lake Crystal, Minn., and Delbert and Leanne of Albany, Minn.: stepchildren and spouses Eithel Hansen of Estherville, Donna Bunday of Mason City, Deraldine and Russell Casper of Waterloo, Betty and William Jones of Britt, Duane and Rose Francis, Darrell and Rene Francis both of Britt, 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother Frank Clark of Lake Park; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both wives, Lydia and Emma, his parents, twin daughters at infancy, a sister Mabel and a brother Marion, stepsons Ralph Bunday and Henry Hansen. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake with Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake was in Charge of Arrangements. Obituary is published in The Milford Mail, May 30, 1996. ----------
