Description	:	Granville "Granny" Lyons died November 9, 1990 of complications following by pass surgery in Spokane ,Washington. He was 78. He was born November 6, 1912 to Gordon and Neva Henion Lyons in Kalispell, MT. His childhood and early adult years were spent in the Eureka area where he attended school and later worked at various jobs. They returned to the Eureka area at Rexford where they... Read More	Granville "Granny" Lyons died November 9, 1990 of complications following by pass surgery in Spokane ,Washington. He was 78. He was born November 6, 1912 to Gordon and Neva Henion Lyons in Kalispell, MT. His childhood and early adult years were spent in the Eureka area where he attended school and later worked at various jobs. On March 24, 1934 he marrried Viola Dierman of Eureka. they remained in the Eureka area for a time and then moved to Addy, Washington in 1937. They returned to the Eureka area at Rexford where they operated a welding and repair business for a time. In 1941 they returned to Washington and lived at Valley. "Granny" was a self taught welder and became a artist at it. His handywork and skill brought him much pleasure and landed him a job at Northwest Magnesite in 1941, near Chewelah, Wshington. when it closed in 1968, he accepted a position with Louisiana Pacific in Moyie Springs, Idaho. When he retired in 1977, he and Vi returned to Chewelah, living at 2235 Sand Canyon road. "Grannys" love of Nature and caring about others has endeared him to his family and many friends. His love of fishing and hunting and cutting wood. He and Vi his wife of 56 years, spent many hours camping and traveling until his illness this past coupla of months. Besides his wife Vi, "Granny" is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tracie and Jeanette Lyons of Tacoma, daughter and son-in-law Ginger and Herb Zibelt of Chewelah. Nine Grandchildren, Debbie, Denise, Diana, Dani,Darci and Tracie R., Tammie and Ted. Nineteen Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a Grandaughter. Cremation has taken place and no public service planned at his request. the ashes were scattered on Huckleberry Mountain. Memorials can be made to the local ambulance service or the "Tiny Tim" fund at St. Josephs Hospital. Schanzenback Funeral home, Chewelah, was in charge of arrangements.
