NELSON PASSED AWAY FRIDAY, JULY 21 FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY Died at the Age of 67 Years and 3 Months. Lived Here For Thirty Years. ______ Gustaf Victor Nelson was born in Kiso, Ostergotlandi Lan, Sweden April 21, 1866, and departed this life July 21, 1933, at the age of 67 years and 3 months. In the fall of 1885 he immigrated to the United States and settled at Aurora, Nebraska and became engaged in farming. On April 20, 1890 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Bister of Aurora, Nebraska. To this union nine children were born. In the fall of 1903 together with his family he moved to Custer County, Nebraska and settled on a farm three miles south of Comstock, where he resided with his family until his death, and enjoyed life in a great manner. Mr. Nelson always took a great interest in all moral, social and religious activities in the community and was a loyal supporter in work of this kind. He was always ready and willing to contribute to any worthy cause or to a needy friend. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and seven children, Mrs. Emma Rousek of Comstock, Mrs. Agnes Olson of Martin, South Dakota, Melvin and Dwight Nelson, also of Martin, South Dakota, Mrs. Dora Lee of Omaha, and Walter and Glen Nelson who still remain at home. Two other children, Helen Nelson Swanson and Dora Viola, preceded his departure. He leaves 14 grandchildren, all living, one brother, Carl J. Nelson of Comstock, 8 nephews and 3 nieces, who are all living near, and a number of other relatives and many friends. One sister and a brother have preceded him in death. Peacefully he has fallen asleep. Sleep on, beloved, sleep. _____ Mary and Gustaf's children are: Helen Kathryn Nelson Swanson (1891-1917), Emma Evalina Nelson Rousek (1892-1984), Agnes Elizabeth "Peggy" Nelson Olson (1884-1984), Melvin Theodore Nelson (1896-1965), Dwight Leonard Nelson (1900-1990), Dora Viola Nelson (1901-1902), Dora Nelson Lee Newquist (1902-2002), Walter Levi Nelson (1905-2001) and Glen Victor Nelson (1909-1975).
