Read More	OBITUARY Mrs. Mary Nelson Passed Away Last Friday, August 22 ______ Died at Home of Son, Glen Nelson at Age of Over 80 Years ______ Mary Bister was born in Alga, Varmland, Sweden, June 3, 1867, the eldest daughter of Kajsa and Carl Bister. At an early age, she immigrated to the United States with her parents, settling near Aurora, Nebraska. She passed away about five o'clock Friday, August 22, 1947, days after a long illness at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 19 days, at the home of her son, Glen, who resides on the home place. On April 20, 1890, she married Gustaf Victor Nelson and they lived near Aurora until the fall of 1903, when they moved to Comstock, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson purchased a home in the Wescott community which became not only one of the finest, but also was noted for its hospitality as everyone was always welcome. They were always happy to open their home for any community gathering. She was deeply interested in the church and did all she could to further its work. She was a very devoted and loving mother, thinking always of her family and others before herself. She leaves to mourn her passing, seven children: Mrs. Emma Rousek of Comstock; Mrs. Agnes Olson, Melvin and Dwight Nelson of Martin, South Dakota; Mrs. Dora Lee of Omaha; and Walter and Glen of Comstock; twenty-two grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Christine Payne of Omaha and Mrs. Esther Tunall of Eston, Canada; two brothers, John Bister of Aurora and Carl Bister of Omaha, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death. Funeral sevices were held from the church at Wescott with the Rev. Fred Johnson of Dannebrog in charge. Pall-bearers were her four sons and two sons-in-law, Melvin, Dwight, Walter and Glen Nelson, Alex Olson, and Eldon Lee. Mrs. Maudie Smith, Mrs. Wm. Higgins, and Daryl Lenstrom furnished the music. Interment was in the Douglas Grove Cemetery. ________ Mary and Gustaf's children are: Helen Kathryn Nelson Swanson (1891-1917), Emma Evalina Nelson Rousek (1892-1984), Agnes Elizabeth "Peggy" Nelson Olson (1884-1984), Melvin Theodore Nelson (1896-1965), Dwight Leonard Nelson (1900-1990), Dorthea (or Dora Viola) Nelson (1901-1902), Dora Nelson Lee Newquist (1902-2002), Walter Levi Nelson (1905-2001) and Glen Victor Nelson (1909-1975). Note: Rankesed is in Älgå Parish.
