Description	:	Gustav Franz Bostelmann, son of Dietrich Christoph and Mrie Catherine Bostelmann, was born Nov. 6, 1897 in Florida, Ohio. He was baptized into the Christian faith, Nov. 21, 1897. In 1903 he moved with his parents to the State of Nebraska, later settling near Chester in 1907 on a farm northwest of Chester. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 27, 1910, by the Rev. Read More	Gustav Franz Bostelmann, son of Dietrich Christoph and Mrie Catherine Bostelmann, was born Nov. 6, 1897 in Florida, Ohio. He was baptized into the Christian faith, Nov. 21, 1897. In 1903 he moved with his parents to the State of Nebraska, later settling near Chester in 1907 on a farm northwest of Chester. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 27, 1910, by the Rev. A. Soldan. His father passed away in 1915 and after several years of farming he and his mother moved to Chester in 1922. In 1923 on April 29th he was united in marriage to Erna Jungch by the Rev. W.H. Becker. This union was blessed with six children. Living in the Chester Community, Gus worked in various occupations. He last worked for the state at the Port of Entry. He gave freely of his time to his Lord through church work. He was a leader at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, serving in all congregational offices. He was also grounds keeper for the Lutheran cemetery and church the past several years. Gus will be remembered by many for his handmade nativity scenes. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters and a grandson. He died safe in the arms of his Savior on Jan. 29, 1974 after being hospitalized on Sunday the 26th. He is survived by his wife Erna, six children, daughters, Mrs. Fred Barry (Louise), Meadow Grove, Nebr.; Mrs. W.E. Neisinger (Gladys), Norfolk; Mrs. Melvin Warneke (Ardith), Fremont; sons, Harold, Bucklin, Ks.; Dwayne, Superior; Wallace, Monroe, La.; Twenty-one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, the Rev. Albert of Lidderdale, Iowa, four sisters, Helen Norton of San Diego, Ca.; Emma Thomas of Center Point, Iowa; Anna Kuhlmann of Hebron; and Dorothea Schroeder of Stockton, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Ne., on Febr. 1, 1974 and interment was made at the Lutheran Cemetery with the Rev. John Freitag officiating.
