Livermore, son of Millard F. and Sophia Estella Livermore, was born Oct.17,1875, in Ringgold; County, la., and died Oct 8, 1953, at Broken Bow, Neb., at the age of 77 years, 11 months'and 21 days. Ha came with his parents to Custer County in 1888, and resided on a farm 2 1/2 miles southeast of what is now Sargent. There was no town here at that time. He attended the grade schools of Sargent and the high school in Broken Bow, graduating in 1900 as valedictorian of his class. He also took some work at the Nebraska State University. He taught in rural schools, at Taylor, Sargent and Comstock for a total of 18 years. He was united in marriage Sept. 1, 1908, to Mary E. Miller. They want immediately to Comstock, where Mr. Livermore was superintendent of the school for eight years. In 1918, he purchased The Sargent Leader and the family moved to Sargent. He edited the paper until the fall of 1949, a period of over 33 years, when it was sold to Jack Van Zandt. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and supported it both by his attendance and his means. In his younger years he was a member of the church board, and in the choir. He attended Sunday School, and was superintendent for at least two periods. Ha also taught the adult class for several years. He had been an ambassador of the Odd Fellow Lodge, the Sargent Service Club, the Morris School Association, and was a charter member of the Lions Club. At one time he served on the Sargent School Board. He held the office of secretary of the County Press Association for a number of years. His hobby was gardening and the raising of flowers Those who mourn his passing, are his wife, Mary E.; three children, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. The children are: Clarice, Mrs. N. T. Fuhlrodt, of Des Moines, la.; Roscoe L. of CoIumbus; and Wanda, Mrs. Leslie Warnken, of Hildreth. The daughter-in-law is Mrs. Madge- Livermore, of Sargent. The grandchildren: Mrs. Clifton Brenneman of Burwell, Joyce Livermore Douglas Voktrodt, Wayne Warnken and Ross Livermore; and the great grandchildren, Larry and Jerry Bilineman. The two sisters and two brothers are Mrs. R. W. Hicks of Sargent; Mrs. F. R. Hicks of Martin, So. Dak.; Fay Livermore, Burwell, and Harry Livermore ot Sargent; also a number of other relatives and friends. "God hath not promised Skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways; All our lives through.
