She passed away at her home in Leighton, Iowa, at 12 o'clock noon, Tuesday, October 29, after an illness of about ten days. Mrs. Van Engelenhoven, nee Gysbertha Jansen, was born in Gelderland in the Netherlands April 24, 1867. She was married to Albert Van Engelenhoven June 20, 1889. She passed away at her home in Leighton, Iowa, at 12 o'clock noon, Tuesday, October 29, after an illness of about ten days. Mrs. Van Engelenhoven, nee Gysbertha Jansen, was born in Gelderland in the Netherlands April 24, 1867. She was married to Albert Van Engelenhoven June 20, 1889. To her and her husband was granted the unusual privilege of being married over 57 years. To this union were born eight children, one of whom died in infancy. Another son, John, whose widow is Mrs. Dora Van Engelenhoven, passed away in 1939. She is also survived by her husband and six children: Mrs. Christina Rempe, Mrs. Jennie Kool, Mrs. Effie De rooi, and Evert Van Engelenhoven, all of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and Mrs. Dena Rempe and Cornie Van Engelenhoven, both of Leighton, Iowa. She leave 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Van Engelenhoven was a charter member of the Christian Reformed Church of Leighton, Iowa. Her husband and children will remember her as a devoted wife and a loving mother. Now they submit to Him who doeth all things well. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 31, 1946 at 1:30 p.m., at the Leighton Christian Reformed Church, Rev. Chas. Greenfield officiating. Interment at the Black Oak Center Cemetery.
