Description	:	Halcie was born in Elnora, IN and she spent her early years there. In 1904, she moved with her parents and family to Washington where she attended Sunnyside schools and graduated from Sunnyside High School with the Class of 1915. On Sept. 17, 1919, she and Sam W. Syria were married at Pasco. They made their home in Sunnyside where they farmed and were engaged in the trucking business and, for many years, owned and operated a produce business. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sunnyside and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Sunnyside. Survivors are one son, Louis Syria; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Rogers and Bernice Haas; one brother, Willard Chamberlain and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Timothy William Syria, and three sisters, Dola, Lora, and Iva Chamberlain.
