He died September 24, 2000, in MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. Halvor was born July 18, 1918, in Bryan Township, Griggs County, ND, the son of Tom and Guri (Aase) Larson. He grew up and attended rural school in the Binford area. He enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1936-1937. He grew up and attended rural school in the Binford area. He enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1936-1937. He then served in the US Army as an infantry man from 1941-1945, serving in the Aleutian Island during WWII. After being discharged, he returned to the Binford area where he began to farm. He was unite in marriage to Glenna Mae Oien October 31, 1948, in Binford, ND. The couple had a dairy farm and farmed in the Binford area their entirer married life. Halvor was chairman of the Bryan Township Board for many years and was an active member of the Bethany Free Lutheran Church and served as trustee for many years. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Mae, Binford, ND; four sons, Galen, Aneta, ND, Bradley, Jamestown, ND, Lennis (Shelley), Fargo, ND, Blaine, Cooperstown, ND; three daughters, Loretta (Mike) McConnell, Hazen, ND, Colleen (Tom) Bjoisjolie, Seattle, WA, Sonya (Terry) Bendickson, Binford, ND; fouir sisters, Johanna Kurti, Fargo, ND, Ann (Harold) Storkson, Everett, WA, Vivian Avdem, Pekin, ND, Gladys (Irving) Marquart, Lakota, ND; three brothers, Melvin (Olga), Fargo, ND,Trygve, Orange, CA, Sivert (Jo Marie) Binford, ND; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Larson, Anoka, MN, Ruth Larson, Binford, ND; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Halvor was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thelford and Carl; and one infant daughter. Published in the Griggs County Sentinel-Courier, Cooperstown, ND, September 29, 2000.
