Interment was in the Binford Cemetery. He died at his home in rural Binford September 27, 2000. Sivert was born June 19, 1925, in Bryan Township, rural Binford, ND, the son of Tom and Guri (Carlson) Larson. he grew up and was educated in Binford, graduating from Binford High School. He started farming in1943. He married Joyce Helen Edlund June 25, 1944, at Binford. in 1946, he purchased the farm three miles southwest of Binford. Dairy cows were a big part of Sivert's life: he sold the herd in 1964. Joyce died May 14, 1962. Later Sivert started selling and installing barn cleaners and barn equipment for Farmway Co. Inc., Manawa, WI and Berg Equipment Co., Marshfield, WI. March 17, 1973, Sivert married Jo Marie (Quamme) Albrecht at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND. After their marriage he served as district manager when Farmway and Berg merged to Marshfield, WI. Since 1973, Sivert sold and erected Behlen Steel Buildings for Central Steel Building and Construction, Ind. Of Carrington, ND. Sivert enjoyed fishing, shuffling, playing pool, playing cards, crafts, rosemaling, camping with his family and his winters in Arizona. He won the Soil Conservation Award, was a member of the Sons of Norway and Trinity Lutheran Church. He donated a lot of his time to the Red Willow Bible Camp. Surviving members of the family include his wife: Jo Marie, rural Binford; eight daughters, Charlotte (Kjell) Haaland, Cooperstown, ND, Janet (LeRoy) Stromsodt, Binford, ND; Jennifer (Robert) Feller, Surrey, ND, Brenda ( Robert) Voegtlin, Mesa, AZ, Jodi (Michael) Ronningen, Valley City, ND, Vicki (Kyle) Brandt, Sacramento, CA, and Kari (Peter) Lewis, Sabin, MN; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Johanna Kurtti, Fargo, ND, Ann (Harold) Storkson, Everett, WA, Vivian Avdem, Pekin, ND, and Gladys (Irving) Marquart, Lakota, ND; two brothers, Melvin (Olga), Fargo, ND, and Trygve, Orange, CA; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Larson, Anoka, MN, Ruth Larson, Binford, ND and Glenna Larson, Binford, ND; nieces and nephews.
