Pottorf, Lulu May (Pottorf) Blythe Obituary Mrs. Hannah (Gilmore) Pottorf departed this life at her home near this place on Monday, January 15th '94 at 4 p.m. at the ripe age of 74 years. She was united in marriage to Jacob Pottorf, Sept. 13th, 1838. To this union six children were born, two of whom with her husband preceded her to the spirit world. She became a member of the Christian church some 18 years ago, and was a faithful communicant up to the time of her departure, filling her home with an industrious and hallowed spirit of a true mother, loving her children and rejoicing in having them all with her during the last days of her great suffering to comfort and administer to her. Mother Pottorf quietly and peaceably fell to sleep in Jesus and now rests from her labors. The funeral was largely attended, attesting the high esteem in which she was held by her many friends and neighbors. The last links have been severed that bound the children and grandchildren to the old family circle, but with the hope that all may meet again in the Father's house above, where we shall never say "good-by."
