Description	:	Mrs. Hannah Sears was born in Dennis, Massachusetts on December 18, 1802, and died in Perry, Iowa on October 22, 1897, aged 94 years, 10 months, and 4 days. She was married to Mr. Moody Sears in Massachusetts in Sept. 1826, and they came to Iowa in 1869, where she has since resided. Her husband died several years ago and she has made her home for the last few years with her daughter, Mrs. Lombard, and for the last year with Mrs. Margaret Sears, her daughter-in-law, in this city. Read More	Mrs. Hannah Sears was born in Dennis, Massachusetts on December 18, 1802, and died in Perry, Iowa on October 22, 1897, aged 94 years, 10 months, and 4 days. She was married to Mr. Moody Sears in Massachusetts in Sept. 1826, and they came to Iowa in 1869, where she has since resided. Her husband died several years ago and she has made her home for the last few years with her daughter, Mrs. Lombard, and for the last year with Mrs. Margaret Sears, her daughter-in-law, in this city. Of eight children born to her, Mrs. Lombard alone remains. Mrs. Sears was brought up in the Friends or Quaker Church, but about ten years after her marriage, she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, a faithful member of which she lived and died. For the last few years her membership has been in the First Church, Des Moines. For the last ten months she has been sick with the infirmities of extreme old age and confined to her bed for most of that time. The immediate cause of her death was pneumonia, which she did not have sufficient vitality to resist. Besides the daughter and daughter-in-law mentioned, a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren remain. Her body was taken by Mrs. Lombard and daughter to New Bedford, Masschusetts for burial beside that of her husband.
