Description	:	Moody Sears died in Des Moines, Iowa, December 28th, 1891, aged 92 years, 15 days. On the arrival of the remains in this city, funeral services were held Saturday, 2d inst., at the residence of John Wing, Mt. Pleasant. The remarks of Rev. I. H. Coe on that occasion were particularly appropriate. Read More	Moody Sears died in Des Moines, Iowa, December 28th, 1891, aged 92 years, 15 days. Moody Sears was born in Yarmouth, December 13th, 1799, and married Hannah Kelley (sister of Ezra Kelley) in Dennis, October 5th, 1826. The widow is still living at the age of 88 years. About 1830, Mr. Sears removed to South Dartmouth, where he engaged in farming. In 1857 he became a resident of this city and was a member of the Allen Street M. E. Church. In 1869 he removed to Des Moines with a daughter, who, of a family of eight children, alone survives him. A son, Charles H. Sears, who attained early manhood, enlisted in Co. D, 23d regiment Mass. Volunteer Infantry, and lost his life in defense of his country’s liberties in the battle of White Hall, North Carolina, January 1st, 1863.
