Hannibal Winget was born in Adams County, Illinois, July 28, 1854; was married to Caroline Browning December 21, 1876. To this union 4 children were born - Frank Pearl, Alpha A., Robert Earl and Hannibal C., all of whom are still living except Frank Pearl, who died November 8, 1905; besides he leaves 3 sisters and one brother to mourn his loss. He died November 3, 1905, at his home 7 miles west of Shelbyville, Missouri of typhoid fever. Early in life he gave his heart to God and united with the Dunkard church. He was a kind husband to his wife, a kind father to his children, a good neighbor, upright in his dealings. May God comfort and sustain the bereaved family in this their sad hour of bereavement and some bright day be reunited in the mansion above. Pearl Winget, deceased, with the Modern Woodmen of America was settled in a very short time. In three days from the time the papers were prepared by the physicians and others at this place and sent in to headquarters the clerk of this Camp received an order for the money. The amount of insurances carried by each of the deceased was $2,000, which will be a great help to their families. Hannibal Winget joined the Woodmen Camp in the year of 1899 and up to the time of his death his insurance had only cost him the total of sum of $80.60. F. Pearl Winget had only been a member four years and his insurance cost him $33.60. There is no doubt about it being a good thing to carry some life insurance.
