Stoltenberg, for many years one of Sioux County's best known and most highly successful farmers, died suddenly about 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home in this city from heart trouble. He had apparently been in usual health until a few days prior to his death when he suffered a slight heart attack and consulted a physician. He had apparently been in usual health until a few days prior to his death when he suffered a slight heart attack and consulted a physician. Saturday night and Sunday morning he suffered recurring attacks but they passed rather quickly and he was able to partake of a good dinner Sunday. Shortly thereafter he was seized with another attack and a physician was summoned who succeeded in relieving him, but shortly before 4 o'clock when he felt another attack coming on he lay down on a couch and expired a few minutes later. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Stoltenberg home and at 2:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. George Steinkamp, the pastor, in charge. Interment will be made in Grace Hill Cemetery. Hans Asmins Stoltenberg was born June 8, 1859, at Bendfield Holstein, Germany, and died at Hawarden July 21 1929, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 13 days. At the age of 7 years he came to America with his parents. They first settled at Davenport, Iowa and from there they went to Gladbrook, Tama County, Iowa. He came to Sioux County in 1885. In 1888 he was united in marriage with Auguste Schneckloth at Gladbrook. They resided on the home farm, northeast of town, until 1920 when they built a home in Hawarden and have since resided in this city. Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons; Albert, Henry, and George, all residing in the vicinity of Hawarden; and four daughters; Mrs. Edna Wilkens of Hawarden, Miss Vilma Stoltenberg of New Orleans, La., Miss Harriet Stoltenberg of New York City, and Miss Julia Stolenberg of Missoula, Mont. All of the children are here to attend the funeral. One sister, Mrs. Lena Theede of Gladbrook, Iowa, also survive him. Mr. Stoltenberg was a man of keen business acumen, resourceful and a hard worker, and through his own efforts built up a competency during his years of residence in Sioux County. He early demonstrated a faith in the productiveness and value of Sioux County land and gradually added to his land holdings until he became one of the most extensive land owners in Sioux County.
