Description	:	Harold D. Linn, 36, of Tipton, died Sunday, July 8, 1990, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, after he committed suicide by jumping from his fifth floor hospital room and died of his injuries. He was reported missing from his room at 4:00 a.m., by a nurse making her rounds. He was staying in the medical/surgical wing of the hospital. Linn, 36, of Tipton, died Sunday, July 8, 1990, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, after he committed suicide by jumping from his fifth floor hospital room and died of his injuries. He was reported missing from his room at 4:00 a.m., by a nurse making her rounds. He was staying in the medical/surgical wing of the hospital. A suicide note was found in his room by hospital personnel and that it was addressed to his family. Harold had been admitted to the hospital on June 20 through the emergency room and was placed in the intensive care unit with respiratory problems. As his condition improved, he was then transferred to the room he occupied. County Medical Examiner stated it appeared Harold jumped about 3:30 a.m., and died of head injuries caused by the impact of the fall. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Sheets and Son's Funeral Home in Tipton and from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, at Rochester Methodist Church in Rochester. A memorial has been established in his memory. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, at Rochester Methodist Church in Rochester. Burial will be in Pee Dee Cemetery in Springdale, Iowa. Harold Douglas Linn was born July 29, 1953, in Iowa City, the son of Lester and Betty Linn. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1971. He married Cathy. He worked as a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Cathy; one daughter, Scarlet Linn, at home; his mother, Betty Linn of Tipton; and two sisters, Shirley Linn of Charlotte, NC, and Bonnie Denman of Wheaton, MD.
