Mr. Segrest was born May 6, 1922, in Charleston, SC, son of Augustus A. Segrest, Sr. and Tryphosa E. Cobia Segrest. He was a Reservist in the US Navy, a Veteran of the US Army, and was an Army POW in World War II in the European Theatre. He was also a life long member of VFW Post 10624. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Saylor Lankosz of North Charleston, SC; and one son, Harold E. Segrest, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Jack E. Segrest of Aurora, CO, and William M. Segrest of Ozark, AL. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Segrest.
