Born July 7, 1932 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Joseph Cleveland and Maude Geer Strickland. He was retired from Carolina Produce. Mr. Strickland was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church where he was a Life Deacon, sang in the church choir, and was active with youth activities of the church. Born July 7, 1932 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Joseph Cleveland and Maude Geer Strickland. He was retired from Carolina Produce. Mr. Strickland was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church where he was a Life Deacon, sang in the church choir, and was active with youth activities of the church. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McLeod Strickland of the home; three daughters, Harriet S. Scarborough and husband, Eddie, Carnita S. Foster and husband, Michael, and Marci Mims and husband, Keith, all of Anderson; four grandsons, Ryan Scarborough, Hunter Foster, Tyler Foster, and Drayton Mims; and one great granddaughter, Valerie Scarborough. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jared Foster, four brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Neals Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alex Henderson and William R. West, Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.
