Later he went to Perry where he worked for the Milwaukee railway company. He was united in marriage to Leona Gilbert of Boone. Two daughters were born. In 1919 he returned to Boone and took up employment with the Northwestern and Interurban railway lines In later years he followed the business of carpenter and contractor.
