Description	:	son of Fred and Alvina (Hagen) Gade Harold Gade, 76, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his home from cancer, on Friday, July 27, 2012, surrounded by his family. Harold was born on March 2, 1936, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Fred and Alvina (Hagen) Gade. Harold was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly and later confirmed in 1951. Harold was born on March 2, 1936, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Fred and Alvina (Hagen) Gade. Harold was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly and later confirmed in 1951. In 1939, Harold's family moved from Oelwein to Waverly, and Harold attended school at St. Paul's Lutheran School and Waverly High School. On May 27, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to Nancy (Betsinger-Chestnut) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. Harold hauled milk to the Bremer Creamery, and delivered propane gasoline prior to joining the family business, Gade's Appliance. He provided installation ad repair of appliances, as co-owner with his brother, Wayland. He retired on April 1, 2003. Harold was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going to auctions, and playing cards, especially Schafkop. Taking yearly fishing trips to Canada was a highlight for Harold. He also had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed going to Sturgis Falls, South Dakota. Harold had a special skill to fix or repair things and got much enjoyment from helping others in need of his skill. Harold is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Nancy Gade of Waverly; his son Evan (Freida) Gade of Lane, Kansas; one step grandson, John Collier of Springfield, Missouri; sister Marlys (Richard) Benschoter of Waverly, Iowa; sister-in-law Bernice Gade of Waverly, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Wayland, and Duane in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Joyce Sandberg officiating. His body will be cremated following the funeral service. A private family burial of the cremains will follow at a later date, at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Tripoli. Public visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
